HEY, I'M SOPH!
I have made my career out of helping my clients move better and feel great. I can’t wait to share with you what I have learned in my years of experience.
Utilising my qualifications in sport and exercise science, for the first 5 years of my career in fitness I focused predominantly on movement, I teach Mat and Reformer Pilates as well as Barre and other group fitness. However I always felt there was something missing. In recent years I have shifted focus to learning and practicing different manual therapies including Myofascial Release and Assisted Stretch Therapy with the aim of learning how to [P]rehab the body.
The intension of the Stretch Kinetics Practitioner Programs is to share what I have learned across these multiple disciplines with the hope that you can have a new skill set to get your clients moving and feeling better.
PART 1: THEORY
MODULES 1-8
Our in-depth theory modules is really what sets our training apart from other providers, while many trainings out there might show you the how, we also delve into the why.
This knowledge will allow you to speak confidently and authentically to your clients about why your sessions are so beneficial and how their body can respond to a regular stretch routine.
These modules include, the myofascial meridians, postural and movement assessments, stretching techniques and the unique Kinetic Stretch System that you will use to execute your stretch sessions.
PART 2: APPLICATION
MODULES 9-13
This is where we put that theory into practice. In these modules you will learn the step-by-step process of how to practically and safely apply these stretches to your clients. You will learn how to position yourself and your client, what props to you can use and contraindications for each stretch.
These professionally filmed videos provide views from multiple angles and are further outlined in the accompanying PDF course manual.
PART 3: PRACTICE
60 HOURS
Once you have made your way through the theory and practical videos it's time to get some real world experience.
During this part of the course you will practice applying the assisted stretching techniques you have learned on real bodies.
Here you will log 60 hours of practice stretching on your willing (and lucky!) participants.
PART 4: ASSESSMENT
CASE STUDIES AND EXAM
As part of the assessment module you will be given the opportunity to practice your client observation skills by submitting a number of case studies for review. During these case studies you'll record findings on your clients history, posture, movement and stretch prescription.
Further more we bring together all the theory and practical components of the course into one online exam.
You will be given ample support and guidance through your assessment via the private student group.
Upon completion of the course you will receive your certificate and will be eligible for CECs through approved providers.
